Glenkindie Hotel Steadings, AberdeenshireBrief: To convert redundant farm buildings into dwellings to sell. To conserve as much of the original steading as possible while maximising the business potential of the building development. Solution: Designed six residences of varying sizes. Advantage was taken of the Southerly aspect of the buildjng with large glazed openings capturing solar heat gain, stored in insulated concrete floors. We created well proportioned rooms throughout with good quality natural daylight and access to views up and down the Glen. Centrally located stairs in each unit meant that there was no space wasted on corridors.
